i am switching mids and adding 12" and amp to my buddies scion, it has the factory pioneer upgraded system, factory radio has 3 amp outputs on it,

is there a factory amp hooked up to the mids or just the 6" subs

wiring diagrams

best place to run 4 gauge power wire, through firewall

best place to tap a remote turn on,

ported box facing toward the rear or up art glass

I own an 07 so i'll try to help.

If i am wrong about anything stereo-wise, just go to crutchfield.com and choose your car. I'm sure they have the correct info.

Anyway, there are no factory amps in an 07, there weren't any factory preamp outputs either on mine before i swapped it out with an IVA-W205.

Anyway, if you can't find remote line out on the stereo, tap into the ignition wire.

Where to run power cable?
Run it through the driver side firewall up through the grommet way up behind the steering wheel area.
It will come out in the engine bay high up so you can easily reach it, it's just a little tight to fit a hand back there.
I am running 0 gauge, and 3 16 gauge wires through that grommet and still have enough room to probably run a pvc pipe through it, hehe. That hole is LARGE.

Where to face subs?
I am currently running 1 Audioque 15 running 600-1100w power in a sealed box 2.2cuft facing up.

While it may sound good, the spoiler shakes quite a bit on low bass and license plate needs deadening.

New install is for 2 12" Fi Q subs sealed off of 2500-3,000w.
I am considering for SQ sake to face them up but keep them as close to the back seat as possible. This will prevent the car from possible rattling as much.

You could face them forward. You might lose some low end but gain a more "punchier" type sound.

I wish i could go ported but there is no room for what power i have.

I was gonna do 3 10s sealed off of a 4K amp but there is so little room, it wasnt worth all the rattle.

I tried to find a way to port 2 12s or even 2 10s but with how big i need the port in addition to needing 2.5cuft just for 2 10s, i cant find the room. I also am fitting 2-3 amps and a battery.

i havent replaced any of them yet.

Cardomain.com states that 6.5" in the front and 5.25" in the rear fits perfectly with possible very minor adjustments, none that would require an adapter though.

ok, your setup now has me goin... I'm sure your's would be louder than mine, hehe so i might have to change plans now.
