I am going to be building a box very soon and i was playing around with some designs and i have came to the conclusion that it is going to be 5 cubic feet and double ported.
The idea that i have been kicking around lately was to make my box three different boxes in one by being able to plug one port for everyday listening, plug both ports for sound quality and have both open for SPL.
The question i have is: Does anybody have any ideas on what material would be best to use to have a 4" port that is easily sealed airtight but still able to come back off with out to much hassle?
if anyone has done this, what did you use and how good does it work? Thanks for the help

on the easily sealed side ofthe question try 4" pvc and then you can put a treaded end on the pvc so u can screaw in a plug or cap(cap may keep internal size better. i've used pvc as ports a few times with no problem but the setup wasn't anything speacial

5 cb ft sealed probably wont meet your sq needs. Just my experience I prefer smaller boxes for sq.

I tried something like this before, I used four 4" aero ports for SPL and two of them for daily driving. I mounted them to a baffle board and had another one just like it for two ports, this way it would cover two of the holes for driving and I could swap them out before comps. I used threaded nuts that had little spikes on it to hold it in the wood. Just bang them in with a hammer and use a small threaded bolt, that makes it really easy to swap them out.
