OK. So Im working on one and i call metra first to make sure i know how the dash comes apart on this thing. their verbal instructions matched that of the kit, and still made no sense. i follow it. what was listed was very un-neccessary and incomplete. it didnt tell me about 4 screws. everything else was just wrong. two of them i found before i pulled, two of them i didnt. i would have, had i looked, but i trusted metra. i odnt blame them completely. they were in the glove box, and sure enough, i snapped the wood grain bezel that extends across the whole dash. BB took care of it, but i wish it could have been avoided. has anyone else ever had this trouble? finally, once the dash was whole again, i realized almost nothing was going to get a radio in this dash. the actual opening is not a full aftermarket width, and the trim ring was out of the question.even with the gm spacer, i had to finagle the wires for a half an hour to get the radio back far enough. even though i know how to work on this car for sure now, i probably wont. dont like the buick.

Buick's in general are a pita. Everytime one comes in I fear breaking the wood grain on the dash. We use best kits for our dash kits and they haven't given me bad directions yet.

I looked over the instructions (my guess you were using the 99-2003?) and it doesn't say a word about the 4 screws in the glovebox that holds the woodgrain trim panel in. I'll pass that info on to get corrected.
sometimes Metra has you disassemble more then you need to in cases that it makes it easier or prevents any possible damage to the vehicle. most installers know what needs to be taken off to get the radios out and you can skip some steps. but the kits are made so shadetree installers can do the job also.
