I am looking to build a box for a honda crx thatg will consist of 6 10's. Also I will be running street C so box cant be above the window line. I was thinking about a box where the subs face up (seems like the only way to do it for Street classes with 6 subs, lol). The only thing is I cant decide on how to port the box. As far as how many and where? Thanx

Give me a day or two and i can get you the dimensions for a box that me and my teammate built for a guy. It was a box for 6 Mmat 10's to go in the trunk of an 04 Sunfire. Amazing enough, it was kinda loud, eventhough I think this particular design would have worked better in a crx or a jeep.

So it is legal to run 6-10's in street c? Can I run 6 -12's? I really wanted to compete, but I couldn't decide whether the rules allowed for that many subs.

If you could get those dimemsions that would be great Unicron. Thanx for your help! In Street C you can run 6 10's, 4 12's, 2 15's, or one 18 inch. No street class allows for 6 12's.

Virus, my bad, I'm still waiting on the measurements from that guy. There wasn't nothing special about the box. It was square with the port on the back on the bottom, the subs were firing straight up. It was tuned to 59 hz. He was using Mmat 12's with about 350 watts on each one. I believe it would fit under the window line. Like before, I do think this particular design would work better in a crx than in his car. Surprisingly enough, it did do a decent score in the kick, never got a chance to meter on the dash. In the meantime, i will try and get those measurements.

here's the dimensions after many days. LOL!! 14(h) x 32.5(w) x 24(L) Hopefully, this will work out for you, but like booming said, you could probably build it bigger since it's going into a CRX. As far as the port go, I would go with aeros.

Thanks, designed and built in under an hour. We would of done some more stuff to it like bracing, glassing the inside, and etc. but he needed it like that day. Mind you, we built it the same day he needed it. It did ok though.

Wow thank you very much! I have a couple of questions though, first, what kind of aero ports should I use and how many? I know 2loud4you has 4" and 6" so which size should I use for 6 10's running at 800 watts each and how many? Also, I was always told that subs pounding in each others air space was bad and to divide the box so each sub has its own air space and port although this design says different. You guys are the experts though, lol. Second question, should I install the aero ports so they are facing into the box, or out of the box? Third, what kind of material should I use and what thickness? I think that is it for now, lol. I built a box for 4 10's (same subs im using, just getting 2 more and 2 more amps) running with only 1800 watts and one 0 gauge wire and hit a 142.8. Im looking to hit a 150 (that would make me happy!!) Again thank for all your help!!!

I'd do 2 seperate enclosures for 3 subs each in a row or kinda staggered so they squeeze together.
If I were going to run street C i'd use 2 15s firing foward in a rex but thats just me, kinda angle the face of the box so it fits under the window line.

Honestly, I'm not an expert in street class. That box we built was strickly for street beating. I'm glad we could help though. As far as the areo ports, it would definitely be in your best interest to ask the street class guys.

I would use the same box with all the 10's facing up, and use 3 6" aeroports firing out of the box. Maybe only 2 of the ports if you want lower lows for bass race.
