Just wanted to ask if anyone on here knows how to remove the stock head unit from the dash din in a 05 honda civic ex.

I have never done an install on anything quite this new (newest car to date being an 02 and it was a truck) so i am slightly perplexed as to how to begin. If anyone has any iformation plese hit me up on here or on myspace just search bpreachers@gmail.com (using the email search option) thank you so much for your help.

Well, the way I do em is a little different. It may take a little extra time, but I can guarantee no scratched dashes, or broken parts.

I completely remove the center console from where it meets the dash all the way back to the arm rest. I pull it all, shift knob, all the trim, everything. (i can do it in about 5 minutes now)

Now, with all of that out, you can see underneath the radio. There will be two 8mm screws/bolts facing upwards in a metal bracket. Take those two out.

Now, a combination of pushing and pulling is needed. Push the back of the radio, while pulling on the front of the radio. There are clips all along the edge of the radio/heat trim bezel, and if it's never been taken apart before, they're pretty strong.

Or, if you don't wanna mess with it, take it to your friendly local installer! (sorry, had to since I install at a shop myself)

There ya go, and good luck
