Has anyone used the Optical out of their PS2, to do a 5.1 setup? I am having a little bit of an issue getting mine to work. Here's the deal I am using the PG 5.1 theater amp that has optical input and standard RCA. I have plugged in the optical from the PS2. But everytime I put in a movie thats 5.1 I get a buzz no sound what so ever. But when I use the RCA's I don't get the center channel. Now keep in mind that this is in the back of an Excursion, along with a 42" Plasma 1500 watt inverter,CPU,3 15" Alpine Type R,4 Alpine amps and the PG 5.1. Any help would be great.

not sure if its the same as the old ps2, but in the menu you used to have to turn the optical output on. it is off from the factory.

lso check the options menu in the PS2, I believe you can switch between 48kHz and 96kHz sampling frequency. My old HT receiver can only take 48kHz otherwise it makes pink noise.
