I've been told by some people that i don't have find a 12v source to run the aftermarket headunit when using this harness.Like in the other older none 2000 up gm cars.Others say i still will have to.
if i have to tap into the wiper switch like i would if i just bought a 2000+ harness then i would scrap this all together.
im just really trying to find out
1,do i still need to tap into a constant 12v with this harness, are does it already have one
2,has anybody installed this
3,will the radio stay on for like 5 min like the old HU did with this unit.

I have absolutely no frikken clue what you are trying to ask.
Start over, use complete sentences, and give more information (like what car you are talking about, what equipment you have, what you are trying to accomplish).

your car has no switched in the harness you have to run a wire from the fusepanel (one that is switched) to your new aftermarked radio and to take your factory radio out you have to take your whole dash apart pretty much. it sucks i hate your car

im not talking about just a 2000 gm metra harness, that you can buy for 15-20 dollars.
see this is were i get confused because i've heard from other installers that with this box i can keep my door chimes and don't have to worry about finding a switched 12v.

I found my answer as quoted from crutchfields website.

Important Note: Because your vehicle is factory-equipped with a special sound system, you will need to purchase this VT-GMRC-01 adapter in order to keep your factory door chime (needed to keep audible safety warnings functioning) while providing a switched 12-volt power source for your new radio. If you do not use a compatible adapter when you replace your factory radio, you will disable the audible warning system in your vehicle. Crutchfield cannot provide a free wiring harness for your vehicle, and we strongly recommend that you use the recommended adapter when replacing this vehicle's factory radio. Failure to do so may result in serious injury or death

yeah you can use that also it keeps the radio playing untell you open the door like factory (i think). one way you can check if you need this harness is listion to the driver side door speaker when you open your door.
