Ok I just bought a 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid and it has that POS JBL speaker system in it and the amp to top it off. I have been try'n to put my eclipse TV in and the install is pretty much not going to happen. They don't make a wire harness for my car yet. I went to pretty much every car audio shop around my area and nobody can help me out, and all i got is the mounting kit (missing a piece and to top it off the piece I need). Some of the installers told me to wire the unit into the ignition switch, or fuse.
My question is do I wire the power wire and the memory wire to that or just the power wire and what do I do with the memory wire (from the Eclipse unit)?????
Also I got all of the wire codes to the factory jbl amp so couldn't I just use the wire for the power on the JBL factory amp to be used as that source of power???? I did try that earlier and it worked and i used a seperate ground, but the only problem i had was that the head unit was on all the time even if the car was off. The only way I could turn it off was by turning it off with the power button the the unit.
I just REALLY NEED SOME HELP I've been at this install for 2 days now and have gotten no where....

Your question is a little confusing. Do you have an Eclipse HU or just a TV.
If it is a TV then there should be a constant 12V which you should have going directly to a 12V source. As far as the remote you can get a Multimeter and with the ignition and radio on check the pins off of the HU harness and see which one reads 12V +, now turn of the radio and with the multimeter still on the wire it should go to 0V. If there are a few wires with +12V then do the on off process until you find the wire which has 0V with the HU off. Use a connector to pigtail off of that wire and run it to your TV, this way your TV will only have power when the HU is on.

1st- as asked above, is this only a screen or is it a am/fm/cd/dvd headunit?
2nd- You can use the main power wire from the amp to supply a constant 12volt memory .
3rd- You now need a switched 12volt lead to turn the eclipse unit on and off. On the toyota if you look at the wiring harness under the driver's side dash that goes up to the ignition switch, there should be a solid blue wire. USE A MULTIMETER NOT A LIGHT to verify the function. The blue wire should be a switched source of 12volts. That wire should turn on and off the eclipse unit.
Be VERY CAREFUL AS TO HOW YOU TAP INTO THIS WIRE! Make sure you don't allow it to touch bare metal, you could damage your vehicle.
*Don't hold me or termpro responsible! You should seek professional help if aren't familiar with using a multimeter. And make sure NOT TO PROBE WIRES THAT ARE IN EITHER A YELLOW OR ORANGE SLEEVE AND THAT MAY BE LABELED AIRBAG. Bad bad things can happen.*
Good luck!

i'm pretty sure scoshe makes a harness for your 06 it looks like a line lvl converter from the one i seen at work. has gains for the input and output and even has RCA outputs. try ordering from your local bestbuy (if you have smart people at your local one) should be about 30$ and another 18.49 for the dash kit
