I have a factory system in my 1998 Explorer Limited. It has amplification the front and rear speakers, as well as controls a 6 disc changer in the center console.
The main thing I need this to do is keep my front and rear speakers amplified, and still allow me to run my subs a signal using the preouts of the 8500MP. Retaining the 6disc changer controls isn't 100% necessary, but would be nice.

you can simply buy the wiring harness adaptor(without the built in LOC) and throw some solderless male rca ends on the speaker wires in the harness. hook the speaker wires in the adaptor harness up to the pre-outs on the deck, and you're set.
by doing this, all you're doing is sending a pre-amp level signal to the stock amps, just like the factory head unit did.

umm i dont know the exact number for the harness or anything. i did exactly what i said above in my friends 97 explorer. i ordered his apline deck from crutchfield, and as you may know, they include the harness and dash kit free. well my buddy told me it DIDNT have the premium sound, but it did, so they sent me the wrong kit.
i wound up just walking into my local stereo shop with his stock deck and they matched up the wiring harness i needed.
