is self adhesive waterproof underlayment from lowes the same as dynamat? looks the same to me, but is just a tad thinner. anyone ever work with this stuff?

yes it is about the same and i used it in my crx seems to work great

is this the same thing as peal and seal, which is made for use under the shingles on a roof to cover holes. its a tar with aluminum like sheet on top?

works great. it is a lot thinner than dynamat original, so you may need to use expanding foam or something else if you need to make a thick area.

a lot of people will agree when i say that if you are going to do it, you might as well do it right, the first time.. dynamat, second skin, anything but peel n seal... sure, it gets rid of rattles, but thats all it does..

getting rid of the rattle is the main concern and it does the job. i'm confused on your statement..what does dynamat and second skin offer more than getting rid of rattles?

1 layer on most of it. certain corners i used expanding foam

Look into a product by Johns-Manville called "Duxseal".
You can even use it on firewalls.

ya thats weird i was just about to make a topic on alternatives to dynamat. Also does anyone here have a 03 and up Nissan Sentra SER Spec-V. I wanna know how to get rid of all the little rattles i hear. Its everywhere and so annoying!!

Perhaps it doesnt offer the cool "name"? Ive used it in three vehicles so far. 0 issues. Rattles needed silencing.....silenced? All.

Spent? 1/3 of what i would have.

i used dmat extreme and peel n seal on my truck. couldn't tell the difference.

yup, thats it.. peel n seal... i've used it on two cars before, works great.. and for the license plate i just used some foam with the adhesive on one side... peel n seal is really cheap...

I use box carpet scraps for the plate....or old mouse pads. Applied with any ol' spray on glue.

It was recomended to me by a friend that used it. Looks like it'd be easier too paint it on then messing with the ultra expencive dynomat.
