I'm hoping someone can share their experience and give me some advice on routing power cables through the firewall of a 2003 Honda Accord. It's the EX coupe, standard 5 speed, no nav. I couldn't find an available unused gromment, but I may be blind. If there isn't an open grommet that I simply missed, where's the preferred drilling location of installers? Think 8 to 4 AWG wire. Thanks a million to anyone that can help!

it never hurts to run bigger wire when you don't need it, you can always upgrade your system then you'll be glad you ran 1/0, 8)...
as for the drilling location, look in the steering colum boot, my friends truck had some room in there to stuff some 4g. We had to make a small slit in the boot under the hood to run it, but it worked. If that doesn't work, try putting it as far to the side of the car that the wire is ran on as possible, I.E. if it is on the left, run it under like the emergency brake, just a bit to the right of that or just enough to not obstruct normal operation of the brake. When the wire is ran in this way, you can unscrew trim along the door in most cases to hide the wire. This is just my experiences, I have no clue where professional installers do it, but I would assume something similar as to me it is the most logical thing to do. I have also seen wire ran (namely 8x1/0 runs) under the car in a PVC pipe...probably not the best idea for your application though.

i have a 92 accord and on the passenger side firewall, under the hood, there is a black canister looking thing (obviously dont know exactly what it is) about 3/4 the way down and there might be a gromet you can push through that comes into the cabin on the passenger side, under the glove box, right behind the top of the carpet. i doubt if it is the same on your car but its worth a shot. oh yea...i managed 2 runs of 1/0 guage through it also
