EXCEPT, you don't need a 30amp relay, and would be much better off with a 5 amp relay Posts: 3531 | From: Adelaide, Australia | Registered: Mar 2005

hook all the red wires togther. Run those to any 12v + wire in your car. Ground all the black wires.
You don't really need a relay unless you get some server fans that are like 200+ cfm or something. I do computer case mods and a normal heavy duty switch from radioshack will do fine. If you're running it to the dash then use like 14g wire, otherwise 16 should work. Get blue LED fans! or red or green or UV ones. www.thinkgeek.com has a bunch. Or better yet, get a computer rheobus so you can speed control all 4 fans independently.

i personally would use the relay to elimante the switch. use an ignition wire or the deck to turn the fans on and off. with a manual switch it's easy to forget to trun them on/off.

try that. You should only need 2. They are loud as heck, but basically move the most air out of any 120mm fan. I may be wrong, but 190CFM is the highest I have ever seen for a computer fan.
I still say get a rheostat so you can turn the fan speed down when you don't need it all.
you could also use a relay in conjunction with the rheostat wired to the remote turn-on.

SECOND sheet??? I guess Dynomat is like Dynamat? or is it Dyn-o-mite?

um, that would be ascentially doing the same thing people told you to avoid by using a remote wire as the power. Those poor blue and sometimes blue with white striped wires just aren't able to cut it for much more than triggering a circuit.
Go with the riostat and relay idea, that way when the trunk is open, you can turn the fans down so people don't ask stupid questians like "whats that humming sound."
