ok i was getting alot of engine noise due to my head unit and my equalizer

heres what i did

i took a piece of 4 gauge and grounded it to the frame of the car the i connected it to a distribution block and then put my deck, equalizer and crossovers ground to it

NOW I HAVE ZERO ENGINE NOISE

if u are gettin engine noise after this then its ur amps
jus upgrade ground wire to higher gauge, scrape away paint from the frame and u should be ok.

Its not the larger gauge wire that fixes the problem (well not completely). Its the single grounding point for all components.

Whenever possible (read: Always) ground all parts of your audio system to a single gounding point on your chasis or directly to the battery if you have a battery in the back.

This helps because it eliminates voltage differences between components and thats a major source of noise.

Example: your deck sees 12.4 volts in the front of the car and your amps/EQs/crossovers/etc see 12.2 volts (just an example). This difference is small but because your components are connected via your RCAs this causes the noise. Single grounding point makes sure that all components see the same voltage which will eliminate a lot of noise.

Putting all of your + (power) on the same point helps as well.

PS. A good solid heavy gauge ground but all the paint scrapped away is also a must.
