I have a CVA-1003 and a DVA-5205 that I would like to install in my double din area of my 96 S10 blazer, problem is that it's not deep enough to accomodate these units without some cutting of the inside of my dash,is there a dash kit that will keep me from doing this and where would I find one of these? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks. [Smile]

That's still a 1 1/2 Din factory radio mount, there should be a plastic back brace for the stock stereo you can cut for depth.. I am not aware of any kits for that situation, so you would probably have to trim the dash some to get the units' faces out, unless you remove the pocket under the radio. Mounting would probably be just a custom job with a few pieces of backstrap and some measuring and experimenting with positioning.

The opening is not a problem,I have a 1/4 inch all the way around, looks like a double din to me,it's just the depth I'm concerned with.

On most newer Chevy's there is a plastic "wall" you can feel behind the radio that you can cut/break out and get more depth, just watch for any wiring harnesses that may be ran in that area. Sometimes there are heat/ac ducts you can trim and mold back with duct tape or abs for the same effect.

If there are heating ducts behind there use a heat gun to soften them and then a piece of 2x4 to push it back a little.
