My Neighbor has a 94 Lexus that had water leaking into his trunk. He has a stock CD changer that is mounted on top of what seems to be a factory Amp.

The Amp was under water so he wants to know if there is somehow to bypass this amp and install an aftermarket amp or where he could buy a replacement for less the the $420 lexus wants.

Has to involve a few new din plugs so I need all the info I can get. [Cool]

I had a 98 avalon with premium sound, there should be a bypass harness that runsa the power and speakers to a deck instead of the amp, search a few of the companys that do dash kits and wire harness's

To keep it simple and cheap, it's easier to replace the amp.

I think the stock speakers are 1 ohm, so they would need to be swapped. Plus a deck and kit and running lines....

I think all this would exceed $400.

Check the junkyards yet?

the factory amps already suck especially if it is nakamichi. I took mine out along with everything else. It acted kinda funny but i think it was the deck. hobojetski@hotmail.com mine is out of a 93 sc400, its a nakamichi, i also have the changer. but i really dont need them
