I have a 2000 Supercab F-150 and I'm considering getting some sound damplifier for Christmas. I was wondering what would give me the best results between these two brands. For the same price I could get 200 sq ft of Fatmat and double layer everything or I can get 100 sq. ft of Brown Bread and just do a single layer. By thickness, Fatmat is 45 mil so it would be 90 mil with 2 sheets where as Brown Bread would be 60 mil with 1 sheet. The numbers show the Fatmat would be the better choice by thickness, but if I could get some feedback on this it would be appreciated Posts: 18 | From: CA | Registered: Dec 2004

I would do the same thing. Use the Fatmat on the floor where you'll need more material to deal with road and engine noise. YOu might want to also put a layer of open cell foam right under the carpet to as a dedicated noise barrier. Having the 2 different types of materials will work much better. Matt to lower resonance, with the foam to block noise. I'm doing this in the Springtime. I just have to find some foam sheeting that isn't too expensive but dense enough to do the trick. I won't pay for Dynamats version. Whay pay for a name?

I've done them all. Dynamat extreme is the only thing worth spending any money on. If you can't afford it right now WAIT. And buy it when you can.
We tried to offer our customers a less expensive alternative a year or so ago. BAD IDEA. Dynamat Extreme is the only thing I will ever sell or recommend to another customer.
