I have purchased a set of the new Diamond Audio Motorsports m56.1 6.5" and tweeter component sets. I have the woofer mounted in the custom door panels and the tweeter mounted in the kick panel on its own little baffle angled up and back. These are running off of a PPI PC275 (4 ohms) I know that Diamond's are really good I have heard them and they sound great...mine however just don't sound that great right now. I know it is probably because of my install (placement, things like this) Guys I could really use some help here do you have any suggestions? Have you heard these speakers? What do you think? btw they are installed in a S-10 Blazer. thanks for the help kw

I think I'd start by unhooking everything else in the system, then start playing with the phasing of your new speakers. I would use a phase detector, if you have one, and check absolute phase, just to see if something obvious is really wrong. Then, I'd probably start working on crossover points. Last I'd probably start looking at the mounting locations and whether that is the problem, that is the hardest one to fix.

If it dont fit, force it... if it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyway...

Do your custom door panels provide correct enclosure for the midbasses. Is it a sealed enclosure or do the drivers use the volume of the door? If the first, how big are they. If second, is the door itself well sealed?

My doors act as the enclosure and they are pretty well but not perfectly sealed off. Anyone built any enclosures inside the doors of an S-10? kw
