Have you considered the Dynaudio Mobile fidelity? Or the a/d/s/? Or how about the Focal Audiomobile? "Best Sounding" is 100% subjective. Go out and spend some quality time auditioning as many speaker systems as you can, and them TRUST YOUR EARS!

Some drivers I admire would be the Focal, Kicker, Veritas, Diamond, then also some raw drivers that weren't really focused for the mobile environment.....Eton, Peerless, Morel. Kicker has been developing the KCG mids this year.....I can't wait until the public gets ahold of some, there is just speculation as to when they will be introduced, but as for the ones the team is using on the competition scene, the results speak for themselves.

Just give me a call and I'll get you some seat time in our vehicle. It's got the killer Veritas horns and the 8" midbass. The owner of that car and myself are both members of Kicker Competition Group...so if you're at any of the big shows, hunt us down. The owner of the Veritas car used to be the Veritas rep also, and he was one of the first users of their product......very extensive knowledge of it and knows some upgrades for both the horns and the midbasses.

I'll be damn busy down there, but I promise you if you catch me we'll have a listen to the Galaxie. We've had some time to tune since I A S C A finals, so it'll be ready to go.
Car to look for: 1963 Ford Galaxie.....it'll be with the Kicker Group......the car is pink with purple flames
You've got my word bro.

Yes....it is the Expert car. Did you see it at IASCA Finals? If that isn't where you saw it, check it out at USAC because IASCA was the first show out with the new install. We finished it about a week prior to IASCA and didn't have much time to tune, but were very happy with our showing. We're in the process of building my '87 Buick Grand National right now. I for one am sooooo proud of the Galaxie. A full year of my life has been dedicated to that car. Not much else was accomplished with any of my vehicles over that time and I would have it no other way. The owner of that car is my closest friend and mentor. Now that we've finally come to a point that we're happy with it, I can get back to work on my own car which should be at SBN 2000 in PRO 151-300 or 301-600. I've got some things in the making that should appeal to the same type of people that appreciate the Galaxie. The thing we both stress about our cars is that they are DIFFERENT. We drive that '63 BOMB to every show......2000 miles, who cares, it was meant to be driven. IASCA Finals this year we drove 3 deep in there with luggage, equipment, cleaning supplies, etc. 1200 miles each way. I don't believe there was more than one other Expert car that was driven to the show......thats proof enough to me that we've accomplished our goal.

It was at IASCA Finals. Very nice car. I wanted to listen to it, but didn't get to. Maybe next year if the finals come back to Greenville. BTW, my sister who knows nothing about cars or car audio loved the car. She thought that it was the niceist at the show.
I noticed that you had Kicker tweeters in the horn flare, were they crossed over very high, ie. 10-12K hz? I have heard of people doing that but never actually heard it.

You are very correct about the tweeters...basically to reinforce the top end of the spectrum. The horns were dropping off about 18k and the tweeters (nd25a, which just happen to be my favorite car based tweeters to date) did the trick to bring it back. I'm glad your sister liked the car also. Like I said before, our basis behind the car was to make it appealing to EVERYONE, not just audio people. People wave and stop to talk about the car all the time. Makes you feel good that people appreciate the time you've spent. IASCA will not be in Greenville next year. They are having some bigass craft show that lasts 6 weeks or something. Kinda sux, cuz I like them southern girls. We had fun down there at a couple clubs.
