my wife has 09 honda accord and is going to be running 1 image dynamics IDMax 10". She hasnt gotten an amp for it yet, looking at something like sundown 1200d or alpine pdx 1000. Any other suggestions for running 1 of these subs? Also, i have read of alot of people running them sealed. She listens to alot of country, rock, some dance and rap, so basically anything. Any suggestions on the box also?

the 1200D is sold out unless you find one on ebay or a forum he is supposed to be making some changes to it a good substitute would be a SAZ-1000D and you can get them for around $350-$400

Keep the sealed box.. You don't need that much power.. 600-700 per driver, anything over doesn't gain in spl. Just making heat..

I got both the subs today for $75. A buddy of mine had them for about 2 months running off a bd1000 to both. He got my FI BL 18's last week and sold these to me just to get rid of them. Only thing is, one of them has a small hole in the surround from a screwdriver, but for $75 i thought it was a great deal. Still looking around for an amp, subs are D4's. She is only going to run 1 of them, so I need an amp that does decent power at 2 ohms

^you can get a recone kit for that sub. You don't have to send it in. You just unbolt the cone and replace it. That screwdriver hole is courtesy of Sam [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

also, for your wife's car--I'd use both of them and free air them. Save the space and get some really nice low end.

thanks for suggestions andy, i tried to pm you, but inbox is full. I would like to try out the free air idea, but have never messed with any of that. I didnt know if there were certain things u need to account for or what? Sam has my number, if you talk to him give me a call sometime. Also, he said you were going to be putting allthread in your truck, I told him I can usually get a good bit of that at work if we have some. Let me know

alright, Now I am going to be putting both IDmax 10's in my expedtion. My wife has decided to wait on her stereo. Would a sundown 1000 or alpine pdx 1000 be enough for both of these subs. I have an alpine pdx 4.100 on my highs now, would like amps to match. But the sundown is a good bit cheaper. I listen to mostly rock, metal and country
