I want to put two 8" subs in, this will be a sealed enclosure, facing forward. Room is not an issue, just looking for a sub with good sound quality.
I was thinking about the JL audio 8w3's, I know they make great subs, but SQ is the issue. I'm not looking for an overwhalming amount of bass just something to fill and compliment the bottom end. Also a good amp to drive them with.
I was also considering the Polk Audio momo 8's.

The DD is a great woofer, but I dunno about it sealed.

If you want a really cheap yet good sounding sub, give the roadmaster 8's a shot. They run $20.00 each. If you don't like them I'll buy them off of you! I have used them in several installs including one of my own. They work well in sealed or ported ported enclosures. For sealed enclosures aperiodic vents keep box rise, at box resonance, under control.

Sundown Audio E8 gets my pick. They are a tough little woofer with a ton of output capability and they sound very nice ported or sealed.

greetings,

I would vote image dynamics id or idq. idq's are very efficient. one of the very best systems i have ever heard was with an image dynamics single 8 inch idq powered by the mono section of an xtant 403a. the car was tuned for sound quality with quart kickpods etc. another superb system had 1 jl w1 10 inch with the gain on the amp pretty low. really efficient. can't go wrong. if you want to move some air then w7's or so would be good but for sound i would go image dynamics. or 3 w1's ? as for amps i have no idea. mine are older than dirt. [Smile]
regards, m.a.d.
