Opinions on amplifier to drive a set of componet door speakers. SQ is top priority.
2 channel ~100w
less than $500

HU Alpine CDA-9886

componet speaker not pick out yet.
I was looking at the polk audio 107SR6500's, but I can't find a local shop where I can listen to them.

If your lucky you may be able to find a Sinfoni 45.2 on ebay for just under $500. Other than that you may laugh at the next amp I'm going to say but I bet you change your mind when you hear one. A Cerwin Vega EXL400.4, they are the exact same insides as the Arc Audio amps that were put out in 2004-05. Basically an Arc clone if you will. I picked one up in a closeout deal online and got it for $40+shipping. You can get them online or on ebay for right around $100 shipped now. Most people that have heard the one in my car can't believe how crisp and life like the music sounds.

I was actually wanting a Zapco but I wanted to be open mided about it. My next question is where to buy a Zapco amp. Good service and no refurbs or quality control rejects.
I found as place http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=585
but know nothing about it.

woofersetc is defenitly not authorized. Thats good question. Sometimes you can buy directly when the state you live in has no rep! I would call them directly, they can at least get you to a rep.

Kenwood Excelon XR-4S. It's tiny, has plenty of power. It'll do biamping with great crossovers, so you can throw that passive crossover away. $499
