Just thought i would do a "somewhat" of a sq system this time. Just wanted to get some feedback on what people would think of my setup, and what would be the idea setup for what I have.
I have the DLS UP6i's running of a ED Nine.2X and the ED 13av2 off there Nine.1. Comps in stock locations in the doors and sub in a 1ft3 sealed enclosure in the rear. I also have a '06 Trailblazer.
The sound is a little different than what I'm use too, but I think it sounds a lot better than what I had. Any thoughts or suggestions. I don't plan to compete, I just want to be able to reproduce the sound (music), the way it was meant to be. I've done a ton of research and thought these items would be the best way to go for the money. Thanks for any comments.

looks like the equipment is good, but as you may know people on this forum hate ED. But if I was you Id pm Andy Jones or Winslow cause they actually know what they are talking about when it comes to SQ. They probably dont have experience with your equipment but im sure they could give you some helpful pointers.

How much deadener have you used, and where is it?

I'm not a fan of those components, but they are not bad. I have no experience with the ED equipment.

I have deadened the doors the best I can without modding, keeping everything stock locations. I have not deadened anything else.

What don't you like about the components?

Unfortunately I'm using the eq on the deck and my only adjustments I have are 50hz,125hz,315hz... and I have a dip in the freq response around 70-78hz. There is an adjustment for boost on the amp from 20-80hz at 0-6db but this doesn't make any difference, because I think the sub is limited to around 63hz due to the inductance (my guess). Not sure the best way to bump up that range other than getting a separate eq. Not sure if I have some cancellation or what, but the comps are crossed at 63hz and the sub currently at about 70hz. I've tried other crossover points and this one seems to blend the best.

Honestly, I'm not sure about the av2 in a ported enclosure, I have not tried it. But, from experience, it depends on the driver, the box size and tuning. I have the Nine.1 on the av2 right now and it is more than plenty for me. I now have it in a 1 cube box to smooth out the peaks, and also blends better with the up6i's. I'm still tweaking things here and there, but I think it finally sounds great. Maybe, I'm just used to the way it sounds now, because there is still some music, that sounds a tad off, but no biggie.

A little off track, but for me, I would go for the sealed if going sq, and if you want some intense low bass, go ported. If going all out spl, I think there are better drivers out there for that.
