Hello, Im new in this but I buy the Term-Lab and I need to now were I put the microphone for SQ in the car, I have to buy the Stan fro the microphone but I need help to start using this RTA.

Place it where your head would be in the vehicle facing forward, then turn it to the left 90 degrees, then to the right 90 degrees from center. Look at those three measurements to get a rough idea.

remember it is a mic, it doesn't hear the same way humans hear.

look up the fletch-munson curve. it may help you adjust from the rta.

^still will not help. Mic is a single point reference. Humans have ears on both sides of their heads. Mic can't tell the difference between reflected sound and direct sound, humans can.

It is nice to look at stuff, but I wouldn't rely on it

if you end up with a perfect curve or flat response on the RTA it could also sound worse then it would with dips and peaks also.

I wouldn't use the RTA for much of anything. Again rely on your ears much more then a piece of equipment

I like your input on things Andy. I always seem to agree with it. Once I master underwater acoustics, psychoacoustics will be my next challenge. Sooooooooooo interesting.
