A couple years ago I bought a set of MBQ QSD 213's (5.25 mids and the Q tweets)from Online Carstereo.com. I'm sure they were factory seconds or something. About a month after I got 'em one of the mids started to fail. I retuned both mids and about 8 weeks later I got a replacement pair. They held up fine for about 6 months. About 2 months later they failed again. I will not buy high-end audio from anyone that is not factory authorized to sell the product. ID doesn't authorize anyone on-line to sell their product right now. Neither does Quart and I'm betting that holds true with a handfull of other high-end manufacturers.
As far as the 9.0 being overkill-thanks Cinco and EastCoast for pointing that out. I'm going to talk to my install guy and see if he can't get three of the IDMax 12's into my trunk (and run 'em off the Zapco 9.0). Martin

Zapco C2K 9.0X from local dealer (Boston area) =$2100. The 6.0 is $1400. What do you think EastCoast - Can Wayne get three of the IDMax 12's in my trunk?! Martin Along with the Zapco 9.0, 701 processor, Sirius radio,a 300/4 and two 300/2's.

MSRP of the speaker. Local dealer could probably get them cheaper for you.

At the time there is no local dealer for ID (Boston area). When I spoke to Jim at ID he said that he expects to have a dealer in my area within the next month or so, but I don't know who it's going to be yet.
What do you think EastCoast- can Wayne get 3 of the IDMax 12's in my trunk?

Perhaps, he's pretty good, I'm sure that he "could", anything is possible with enough time and $. But is it the best idea, you have to ask him. 2 will fill the bottom end just fine in that tiny car and may leave room for a nicer looking install.

You're right as usual EastCoast. Wayne likes the idea of 2-12's a lot more than 3. He's also recomended going all Zapco as far as power goes. If Tweeter will let me return the two 300/2's I bought I'm going to take Waynes' advice and go all Zapco.Do you agree that I'd be better off with Zappco power vs. JL? Martin

If you plan on going to shows, I would get Zapco. Zapco supports their people really well. JLs are nice amps, but you are also getting more support from Zapco.

...If you haven't bought the 701 and your amplifiers yet I'd look into the new Zapco digital amplifiers. All the processing is inside the amplifier from TA, crossovers, and 10 bands of parametric EQ per channel. A pair of 360.4s for the front stage would be awesome and give you 80 bands of EQ ability. You might also want to consider the IDQ's for an SQ install. They aren't as expensive as the IDMax and are (IMHO) outstanding SQ subwoofers.
