Just trying to figure out if the placement of the speakers in the pics will sound allright. I know that its not the best place but Im not willing to give up my dead pedal area in order to put them into the kicks. My other question is with the intension of running an alpine head unit, will the time allignment that they have be able to balance the sound off correctly so Im not overpowered by the drivers side of the front stage? I will also be running a pair of 8" mid-bass speakers in the doors once I get arround to customizing the door panels and all the speakers are going to be active.

By the way the comp. are mb quart 5 1/4's and they will be glassed onto the A-pillars. I wanted to put them farther away on the bottom of the a-pillar but they wont fit. Im also putting a pair in the rear behind the 1/4 windows above my subs

If you are looking for good SQ, then I wouldn't put them there.

How would it be dangerous? Im looking for the best sound quality without compromising my ride comfort, I take a lot of long road trips and eventhough the kicks would be ideal for the speakers It would be too uncomfortable for my legs. My other option is to put them into the doors along with the 8" mid-bass'.

^Exactly. You can't even see the front end of that truck because of how much space tha speaker is taking up.
Also MB Quart mids are intended to be run free-air. How are you going to do that in that location? I've also never head an MB Quart tweeter on axis that sounded right. They need to be off-axis.
I'm not against dash mounted midrange drivers. I use dash mounted midrange drivers---but what you have there is dangerous and won't work.

I see what you meen now. They will block a lot of my view, guess their going into the doors with the 8's then and the tweeters in the top of the doors behind the side mirrors. Would the 5 1/4 & 8's sound better flushed or angled though? Im looking at getting either the kicker 8" mid-bass', mb quart 8's or morel 8's. Sorry for all the questions, Iv allways been into building big bass systems and this is the first time Im really aiming for good sound quality from the mids and tweets

The problem with going in the door with both a midbass and midrange is you need to separate the back wave of each. I know the MB likes to be free-air, and I believe so does the kicker. So you will have 2 speakers that both want to be free-aired sharing the same airspace. That doesn't work. The 8's backwave will effect the 5 1/4".
You might want to try just using the 5 1/4" and tweeter and see how it sounds. If you want more midbass look for a good 6 1/2" and tweeter set up. Or dump the 5 1/4" and find a midrange that will work well in an enclosure you can build inside the door. That will allow you to free air the 8" and have the mid protected from its back wave.

thanx for the info, Ill look into what you said. Maybe I can do the opposite and find a mid-bass that works well in an enclosure in the door and run the mb quart free-air.

Trust me...you don't want to go that route.
