Need a little help/advice. I actually have enough gear for decent SQ system,so I have decided to go this route (maybe bass race [Big Grin]

). Which is a better amp setup:

A: 3 channel amp with a passive 3 way front stage
(8"/5"/1" or 6"/4"/1") and sub (1) 12"

B: 5 channel amp- amplified 3 way front stage
(midbass(active) and mid/tweeter combo (pasive)
with sub system (1) 12"

My amp choices are: an Xtant x603 or a MTX Thunder 5400x. As for the rest of the equip,the only piece im firm with is the alpine cda7893-which has onboard time alignment. I'll take any ideas under advisement. I know that the rexs did well in the sq arena before the spl rage so any info is welcome.
