I thought I'd ask this question again. In search when you type it in you get responses from 2001 and people even matches "when's the w7 coming out?"
I currently have a 13W7 and it sounds great in the 3/4" sealed box. I want to do a fiberglass enclosure and was thinking about swapping it with 2 IDMAX 12".
My amp is a JL1000/1
Which way do you guys think I should go?

I have heard the W7 and it does ^ have more output. The IDMAX more SQ. So if you go 2 IDMAX's, you will have a fantastic setup. I loved my 2 MAX 10's a lot. They seemed to hit every note. Wish I still had the room.

A buddy of mine used to have two 12" IDMAX in his Probe with one JBL PB 1200.1 to each in a sealed box, the bass was insane and it produced every bassnote, except he blew them 4 times. The IDMAX only have a 2.5" coil in a very tight magnetic gap so they don't like abuse one bit. 500~800 watts is about the best.

I don't know, maybe I'm just lucky or maybe other people just overdrive the hell out of them, but I had a single Max 12 on a Zapco 9.0 for about a year, and the same sub is now on a 6.0, and it's going strong.
