You said "play low with authority" of course in freeair without the ability to control them. In august 2006 BOB MORROW tested. Not good enough for the price. 72.7 points. In full range the low frecuency was good beneath 80hz The parameters of qwd-160: qms=5.8, qes=0.46, qts=0.43, fs=49hz. I prefered a high qts for freeair application in doors. So a decided to go sealed with this mid-bass. Just for the record i tested other mid-bass with higher qts and work better in freeair doors.

Japenese Pioneer ODR HU/Processor Genesis Dual Mono Extreme Amps (4 of them) Genesis 7" Midbass (in an AP enclosure) in the floor Genesis 4" Midrange in a sealed enclosure Morel MT-23 Incriminator Audio Flattlyne Subwoofers---free-air.
I'm fairly certain I know high end audio.
Do the RTA test. Post the results. Even with a subwoofer you don't want that sub playing about 40hz unless it is mounted up front.
I have a Quart 6 1/2 but it isn't a QSD. I will do the test this weekend with it if you don't want to show what you are suggesting. . . .

Morel MT23 because I tested about 10 different tweeters and it was the best sounding tweeter. That included Genesis Absolutes, Alpine F1s, Polk SR, and a bunch of others.
I don't just guess, I test. That's why I posted what I posted above about the QSD. I've tested. That small of an enclosure will make the frequency response look like an EKG of a heart attack patient.

I sell MOREL; The dealer price of mt-23 is 129.00 pair. so you begin with Genesis and what happens with the absolute or ring radiator tweeter. do you buy raw drivers or what. Morel Supremo is one of the best tweeters. You have a 6.5 mid that isn't qsd. Maybe isn't neo motor. but make a .33cf and use like a mid-bass 80hz,110hz,125hz,150hz, etc.

80hz isn't low enough for a midbass unless you have a subwoofer up front. It has to play lower than that. It has to go down to at least 50hz and preferrably 40hz.
The Quart I have is an OLD QM160 from back in the day (mid 90's).
You have the QSD--you do the test with the RTA.
I still have the Genesis tweets. The morel worked better in my car. I've done quite well in competition with that set up. Really well actually.
Right now though the Morel tweeter is not hooked up. An Incriminator Audio tweeter is. It is SWEET.

Everything in live is about prefer taste. When I purchased Morel Supremo, Dynaudio, Phoenix gold ti-elite mids and much more they came with a chart of various enclosures; sealed, ported and free air; but freeair was the last choice or maybe the easiest. All car doors are diferent; space, density, open, sealed etc.. You know that a speaker with cone movement needs "Brakes" and in free-air you can't control it and always leaks air. when a speaker leaks its mean that you lose output in some frecuencies. It can be midhigh, midrange, midlow, woofer or sub. When you play a 2 way component system and play down the 6.5 mid to 40HZ and you cranck the volume the cone begins to travel to much and in midrange and mid high frecuencies; you begin to hear distortion. Now with a 3 way is much better for than application. Tweeters from 3.5 and up,mids from 300 to 3.5 and midbass 70 to 300 and 25 to 70 in subs etc... When i built enclosures for mids, woofers or sub. I select the right enclosure for the frecuencie that i want to play for an expecific range. Is more easy 4 peoples pushing a SUV WAGON than 2. Not always the more expensive amp, driver etc is the betters. Andy my english isn't my best language, forgiveme.

If you like Morel mt-23 then you will love Morel supremo 4" and Dynaudio Esotar 2 four inches tweeters. The round spheres of both tweeters helps to diflactions problems and both goes down to the mid-high area.

The pointsource drivers that you suggested as best is the same concept of THIEL 3.5 mid/tweeter, that i listen here in two different sq cars, one with 6.5 dynaudio esotar2 midbass and 10 inch Morel Ultimo sub and BRAXX TO-3 AMPS with Denon head unit. The other one use less expensive amps and drivers, Audio Art amps, Cdt Gold MidWoofer without sub and Alpine cda-7995 head unit. Bought cars sound great. I have dealer price of THIEL 3.5 mid/tweeter raw drivers, and is less expensive that genesis mid/tweeter.I see the parameters of your midrange and says 10 liter to freeair. 10 lites is equal to 0.35 cf not too far
