I need two new amps. One for Utopias in front and one for two 10's in the rear (probably Elemental Designs 11Kv.2's).

I know of a lot of different amps out there, but price is a huge factor because I just bought a new car.

I believe it is narrowed down to Diamond Audio D3 or D5/D6 or Elemental Designs Amps. I would imagine that the Diamonds are better, but have had no experience with either. Any recommendations would help. And please respond if you know anything (my last post got nothing).

ED has gone way down hill IMO. Their premier products were great IMO...but that company has been landsliding ever since.

Don't know a thing about the amps, but thats my take on ED.

i work with a lot of ed products, simply because most of the people i do systems for are price savv soncumers, and so far, i have not found an amp that can beat the ed stuff at its price point.

I think the diamond d6 amps are great too, but they will cost more and i don't see/hear any improvement worth the price difference.

Right now working with two nine.1s there mono class d amp pushing three kicker l7 12s, so far so good, and you can not beat the 3 year warranty period.

The 11kv2 is a nice sounding sub, i did a comparison between it and the image dynamics idq 10 for a curious customer and the idq did win, but again..at a higher cost. The 11 kv2 just could not keep up with the idq in the over speed..and hang over factor. Neither sub is inferior they just do dif things better than each other.

So in conclusion, go with what you prefer looks wise, because both amp lines are quite nice, and will not do you wrong in any way.

Thanks for the replies. I know there are a lot more people that know about this stuff, and refuse to answer for some reason. I appreciate you guys trying to help.

D3 amps are designed by Rob Zeff (arc/Zapco) Reliability on these are very good. Havent had a D3 amp come back to our shop in about 2 yrs. With the lifetime warranty now available its hard to find a more backed product.

FYI soon they actually are releasing a d3400.1 and a D3800.1 1ohm stable mono amps and ditching the d3600.1. They are doing this because they now have a D1 line series of subwoofers that offer great bang for the buck and 2 different mono amps can accomodate better D1 and D3 setups powerwise.

Although I have never used any of the products in question, my dealings with eD have been nothing but great. One of their employess on another board I go to noticed I was the resident sound guru and has been nothing but great in dealing with questions and inquires and such. He also gave me a lot of info on the upcoming 19ov.2.

I've never had to have any of my eD stuff serviced (but how exactly does one service sound deadener) but i'd be willing to say they would be cool throughout the process.

Unrealted but I had one of my Diamond crossover go to junk.... the inductor coil fell off. I don't know if it was a fluke or if it is reflective of their build quality, which I really hope it isn't.

Not mine...perhaps another reason I don't have a taste for them.
