I've recently seen a few MB Quart amplifiers on eBay and in Crutchfield. It looks like they have most power ranges covered; I think that the ones that I saw were 200 x 2, 200 x 4 and 1000 x 1 (or something close to that).
I'm not a huge fan of MB Quart tweeters, but then again, that could have been the systems that I've listened to. I've heard from many people that they like the MBQ tweeters. I do like the MBQ mid-range and mid-bass --- I've not had a chance to listen to their sub-woofers.
I can only assume that if they do a good job with their speaker lines that MBQ amplifiers would also be well done. From the few reviews that were posted on Crutchfield's web site, it looks like their amplifiers are good. However, I don't know what other brands the customers were comparing the MBQ amplifiers to when they placed their reviews.
I'm not looking for monstrous power. I'd ilke to have a clean system over a system that I could lend out to the local arc-welder's guild. A good mix of clean + power would be good. From my initial look into MBQ amplifiers, it looks like they are a good mix of umph & SQ.
I currently have an AudioArt 340.6 that was for the old s-10. It's sitting in my basement. I don't currently have plans to intigrate it into the Montero Sport (akin to the 4Runner / Pathfinder). However, I've been toying around with the idea of putting it into my wife's Kia Sorento (a bit bigger than the CR-V).
Brands that I'm familiar with and would be comparing the MBQ against: Orion XTR, Orion NT, Orion HCCA, PPI Art, MTX Thunder, RF Punch DSM ix, PG (white & gold "M" series), AudioArt, Alpine V-series, Soundstream Granite, Soundstream Reference, Soundstream Lil' Wonder & Rubicon and the Infinity Reference series.
Any insight on if these would be a good purchase is welcome. Same with if there are other brands that I should consider.
The system that I'm looking to build: 6.5 components up front (Infinity Ref or similar) 6.5 coaxials in rear doors (Infinity Ref or similar) 1 - 2 12" flat sub (Blaupunkt Overdrive "Saucers", Earthquake SWS or similar) HU will probably be an Alpine CD/MP3/AM-FM unit. No video at this point.

The amplifiers were designed and built by Rockford Fosgate.

Also since rockford sold the company the MB Quart amplifiers and HU (since it was all RF Gear) is no longer manufactured and whats being sold is only the left over pieces. i would worry a little bit about the warrenty on those, as a mb quart dealer and a rockford dealer i can tell you we are already having warrenty problems with the electronic part (hu/amplifiers) of mb quart because they were rockford pieces with a quart badge whos going to warrenty them.quart does not produce electronics. the few pices i has i could not get repaired or replaced just credit towards new rockford stuff. If you after SQ with power id look into Zapco

I think they are supposed to be nice. The price is right on them now. Only thing I've heard bad about them were- turn on/off pops and some made a buzzing sound. And...they are large.

They are decent, but the warantee issue bears consideration.
The past few years of fosgate amplification has been sturdy and powerful for the budgeted system. I ran a number of them myself..the series that had the 851x were great...the following year were even better.

I have a RAA-2400 in my G/F's car running the front stage, good clean power and a fantastic price if you shop around the net, but I would end it there It's fine for her but I wouldn't run them in my cars.
They rate the RAA-2400 @ 200 watts X 2 and 800 watts X 1 I bought it to replace a Alpine MRD-301 and the MRD-301 Owened the MB-Quart in SQ AND SPL they aren't subwoofer worthy, good on a set of components, but other than that no good.
The RAA was alos owned my a MRD-601 and to compare the RAA-2400 to my JL 500/1 is a joke the MBQ amps must have TINY power suplys or something.
I never tried thier RAA-1000, 1000 watt class-D
