My subs are the 250L's. I run a pair of them, each in a 1.4 F3 box. I had them in my spare tire well forever, but recently, built a box and slot loaded them. They still f3 at 18Hz, and have usable output down to at least 12Hz.... I've played telarc's 1812 overtures cannon shots (12Hz) at 119dB. Pretty spectacular, if you ask me!! At that low freq, that loud, you think your going to lose your teeth! I know, 119 doesn't sound loud, until you sit in the car and actually hear it... by the way, I gained about 3dB slot loading my Oz's.

Am I correct in my assumption that you are using a ported enclosure?
Can you please elaborate on the principle of "slot loading" (why am I getting mental images of Beavis & Butthead in Las Vegas!?!?)How does it work and how do you do it?

I'm not sure if slot loading has "real" requirements... I experimented with mine till I liked the way it sounded. My subs are 10". They are each in a separate 1.4 f3 SEALED box. I personally dont like the sound of a ported sub, but have heard some nice ones! Anyway, my subs are built into a wedge shaped box, firing down at the floor, I built walls 2.5" along the front long edge and the 2 sides, leaving the back side of the box open. I then just screwed a 3/4" board to the bottom of the box, and ran a brace along the center of the subs. When you look into the trunk, you see the back of the box, and at the floor you see what look like 2 long ports (actually the slots). I dont really know if there are any kind of calculations you can make for this type of setup... I tried 3 different heights, using an RTA to watch low end response, and this was the best spl boost/Non-RTA changing height. As to the question of the BFB line of Oz Drivers, they are pretty respectable. They dont like a ton of power, at least the mids dont. I havn't used or even heard the bfb subs, so I cannot comment on them. The component speakers sound pretty good, considering what they're big brothers sound like. My subs run on the bridged sub channels of my Nak Pa-506. The amp runs 2 ohm to them, and I think it's about 200Watts to the pair(100 each). Not a ton of power. The rest of the system gets 50X4. So, compared to the rest of the system, my subs get double the power.

Hmmm... is your girlfriend cute?? I will have pics posted eventually. I have kind of changed my mind on the whole mission of my system. I was going to go all out and compete again, but, have taken my competition dreams down a couple of notches. I've decided that I dont really give 2 craps how my system looks to everyone else, it's how it sounds, to me, that matters most. I also figure that not spending my weekends working on a trim ring that really looks bitchin' can be better spent on the subtle things that make a system sound perfect. I will get pictures up, but they will be more just for showing my equipment than my install. Hope this makes sense.
