Im looking to possibly build some fg kicks for the grand cherokee soon and wondering what you guys wud think about putting in some RE 8's? Im planning on using them for mid-bass in an attempt to try and bring a less boomy more accurate bass to the front stage, Im goin to highpass them at around 65hz and lowpass them around 250-300 what you guys think about my choice for woofers? or would another woofer be more suitable (Id like to find a 6.5 that way the kicks wouldnt have to be so large [Razz] ) Go ahead n drop ne reccomendations you may have [Smile]

If you are going to put a midbass in the kicks, you will need to either put in a large enough enclosure for them (works in the same manner as a subwoofer---you have to have the right size enclosure), or find a midbass that works in free-air and cut a hole in your vehicle to vent them to the outside.

Good luck,
Andy

Yea, ive measured it out a bit and found that i could make the kicks have up to a .15 cu ft enclosure, which looking at driver recommendations looks like itd be ok for most 8's

I think I've read that the RE 8s don't do so great for midbass. They were made as an actual subwoofer. Maybe I'm wrong on this? Shoot, you could just call up RE and ask...702-896-4823 (Is it weird that I have that saved on my cell phone?)
