What's up everyone, I just signed up for this forum and would just like to say hello to everyone. My little spot on sounddomain is in the sig...or should be. First off I'm just getting started with the whole SQ thing so any help (websites, resources, certain products) you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated. So far I'm wanting to go with Infinity Kappa 4x6 plates in my dash and Infinity 61/2 3 ways in my doors (I know, coaxials are BAD for SQ...or at least I've heard)and a Kicker L7 12" for my sub. Any suggestions or ideas would be welcome and appreciated. C y'all lata.

Welcome. Coaxials may not be preferred over Component sets by many, but if you're on a budget (or don't want to put a large chunk of your pay-check into your system), then there are some good coaxials for SQ. Kappas are one of them.
The mid-bass is a bit-lacking for my taste w/the Kappas - great mid-range & highs...the Reference series seem to have better mid-bass, IMO. The 4x6 plates are a very nice alternative to purchasing a 3.5/4" comp set or coaxial -- easy to instal & component quality. The Kappas should give you a pretty smooth mid-range and good highs - they are a bit sharp for some...I personally like the silk tweeters of the older Kappas, but the newer ones sound OK too.
Other coaxials you may want to look into: JL, RF, CV V-Mag, BostonAccoustic, Morel, and Eclipse PointSource to name but a few. The Kappas should keep up with most of them, the PointSources are one of my favorites and they're in the same price range as the Kappas (at least the last time I checked).
They can take a decent amount of power, I wouldn't send much above rated power to them w/o a very clean & x'd-over signal (I blew my tweeter on my Kappa 5x7s in the BII before I realized that x-overs were a good thing).
I don't have a lot of in-car exp with the L7s, but from my auditions at the store & in customer's cars....they are a nice sub.
From a speaker perspective, sounds like a good system . Good luck.

Hey guys, thanks for replying to my post....sorry about the mistake about the link to my truck....thought the home page would be displayed in the sig. Sounds to me like there's more to SQ than i first thought, after looking around for a while....I'm gonna check out all the other coaxials Ber mentioned and see what i think, Could you guys also recommend a good x-over, good quality for maybe less than $150, and maybe some sites that sell all of this stuff cause I've never heard of half the brands everyone's talking about . Anyway, who was the legend you were referring to spydermann? Thanks for all the help and I'll keep you guys posted about the progress of my search for decent SQ, I forgot to mention that the only speakers besides my subs i have right now are my stock 4x6 , The guys who installed my first system put all my factory highs AND my 2 woofers on a RF Punch 60.2....probably was pushing a .4 Ohm load or something, but to my surprise it handled it. Another thing i forgot to mention was the amps I'm going to use for my setup, So far I'm thinking of getting a PPI PCX-1250 for my L7 and a Rockford 300X for my mids and highs. Once again thanks and later.

I would also recommend looking at Oz Audio Matrix coaxials...I just bought a pair of Oz Audio Matrix 300L 12's and they are beautiful...the fit and finish looks amazing, to me. Oz Matrix components are said to be very nice, with great midbass...I'd really look at them if I didn't already have components.
