I'm redoing my install. Here is the equipment and what everything will pan out to be. Let me know if you have any advice or suggestions.
Source: Kenwood X915 (hopefully replacing soon with an Alpine, 7994, 7995, or 7998 if money permits, maybe a Kenwood X959 or an older but new Sony C90 as well)
EQ/Crossover: AudioControl EQX, 13 band, 6 fixed bands single bandwidth all under 200 Hz, 7 dual bandwidth (left and right adjustments) fixed bands. 24 dB/octave xover points. Going to start with 60 Hz (HP Front, LP Sub) and work from there.
Front Stage: Adire Audio Koda 6.1 Components mounted IB in the doors. Tweeter position yet to be determined. Doors fully deadened.
Sub: Adire Audio Brahma 12", Box will be 13 ply Baltric Birch coated with resin inside and right at 2.0 cubes net airspace for a Qtc of 0.577 hopefully (don't go by WinISD for this, I'm going to double check it with Dan to make sure this is right though).
Front and Sub Power: An Avionixx 400.2 on both the front components and the sub. 125x2 @ 12.5V or 400x1 @ 12.5V. So I should be doing pretty good on the power situation and have plenty of headroom I think. More details at www.edesignaudio.com just look for the link to the Avionixx amps. I've heard they are of comparable quality with Zapco and the like. I'd especially like any input on these if anyone has ever heard of them or better yet actually heard one. They have class T amps but the 400.2s are AB.
Thanks for any input on this setup. I'm really looking forward to it and will hopefully have the install done by MECA Finals on November 9-10 (except for the Adire components because I doubt they'll be out yet. I might talk to Dan and see what's up though). Just wanting some input about whether anyone has used the mentioned equipment and whether it's all good or if I need to change anything? Thanks for any help and/or input guys. Later.

sounds like a good selection of equipment. Sounds to me like the key now is to make sure your install and tuning do those components justice . . .

I like the 7995 out of all the HU, don't think the 7998 is worth the extra ca$h, if your comonets aren't out yet get some AVIs

I don't have enough experience to comment on what difference it would make, but the Alpine 7998 has time correction, which is a pretty cool feature.

the 7995 has it also, the 7998 is the one with the phantom face

After talking with a friend of mine, and not caring for time alignment too much and all, I'm heavily thinking of using the Sony CDX-C90 (older Sony HU and highly regarded as awesome. I've spoke with a knowedgable competitor about it and he recommends it highly. It's also built very well and used to retail for over $1200. Also, Mansville uses one in his JL Jetta). If that deal falls through I'll probably be looking at the 7994 or 7995. My current HU's motor is failing on the MASK face, and I'd like to stay away from motorization as much as I can from now on.
