im getting ready to fiberglass a new dash and im wanting to put 5.25 components in the dash, facing me up in the corners at the bottom of the pillars, with nothing blocking their sound path. Is this going to be alright in terms of imaging, depth, and everything else sq.wise (im a sq newbie)??
Its either there or in the tops of the doors, but Id really prefer the way they will look in the dash.
im going to be putting 8's in the doors also..

any comments/suggestions?
Thanks,
ShAdY

you'll have to do a lot of moving of the mids to get them to reflect just right, will be lots of works, if you get it done right they only thing you'll lose is ambieance

I think it would be a better idea to put the 8s in the dash for midbass and the midranges in the upper doors. (8s in the dash can be done!)

I don't like the ideal but more and more people are doing it, I don't like cutting the dash to put spks. there. but if its what you want do it

The problem with speakers in the dash is the pathlength difference between right and left. It will be hard to get it to image correctly.
