The point is not that it is okay for some and not for others; that's been made clear that it isn't the case, and Winslow apologized for the mistake. To me the point is that it was not that big a deal and people overreacted and behaved as though some heinous crime had been committed...a simple email to Winslow to tell him that he shouldn't "break the rules" would have solved the problem. Whoever did overreact had no business making such a huge mess of it and crying to the other mods about it and, apparently, trying to get Winslow ejected. Again, not a big deal, let's all just chill and forget about it.

Nobody tried to get me removed. I did pose the question in response of me being such a bad person. I really thought that I had killed someone's cat. I never got a direct email, noone ever directly contacted me in any forum. I did get a couple of mods saying that I should know better and a few folks saying that I was "holier than thou" b/c I was a mod posting my stuff forsale...that I was "like a crooked cop" etc. And no, I did not react kindly to comments like that even when I was in the wrong.
People went back and told people without ever telling me...I would like to think that there is a chain of command, and this got jumped and twisted all up. If you have a problem with me or the way I moderate, you come to me first. Do not go dragging other mods into it and crying to Wayne about it.
Yeah, I messed up...but I really didn't see the big deal in the whole thing. It is against forum rules though...but most people hate the Marketplace and don't like screwing with it. And the group we have here is pretty tight and pretty solid I think.
So, I'm not going anywhere any time soon...I don't think. Maybe to the madhouse if I don't get my car finished for Finals...but that is another story.
It's done with and over...
BTW- thanks for the kind words guys. I try to be open and honest with you, and tell you what little that I have learned over the years...and I've learned a good deal from you guys too. Means alot coming from you guys- and girl (can't forget Kristen...er, Krissa ).
Let's move on...lol. Too much to learn and to do.
I will try to think of some ideas to write my thoughts on, and maybe we can have a nice discusion. Hell, if you guys have ideas, post them...don't wait on my lazy butt .

You mean like when Lee created the marketplace?
Why don't you all stop being a bunch of pune tangs and let Winslow sell his stuff? Out of the people compaining, I don't think I've seen a one of you in the SQ or Mids/Tweets section before. Can't there at least be a single threat in this section for people to sell SQ products? Since the site is predominately SPL related, I doubt it would be anything so big that Winny wouldn't be able to handle it.

I agree totally. The marketplace is rediculous. I tried to put something on there yesterday and it wouldn't work. I don't see any problems with anyone posting for sale items on here. It's not like it clutters the whole board! Come on- this is rediculous- I can't believe this post even has to happen. No one is causing this place to be worse except the people that are complaining constantly about winslow's post. I mean, what are rules if we blindly enforce them and they happen to degrade the situation? This is just rediculous how far out of proportion this has gotten.

There must be more to this - does everyone notice how often the phrase " a place for Jason to sell his stuff" comes up ? I clearly remember reading Winslow's first post on this and EVERYONE in the sq forum could post as long as it was done in a proper way. That first post is probably months old so why all the fuss now - Living in the UK, I've bought some pretty expensive or rare stuff from termpro members - mcintosh, 2000x etc, and all have arrived in working condition at a great price. After 8 transactions, I've not once been burnt - part of the reason is that I've dealt with someone who's a regular at the sq forum rather than an "unknown" in the Marketplace. (That same "unknown" is probably a genuine seller twiddling his thumbs). I'm sure that there are a lot of solutions (people leaving a credit card # with the moderators etc) but that could take some of the fun out of what is supposed to be a forum about music - we're not here to discuss neurosurgery or the repurcussions of nuclear holocausts - we come here to get a better sound in the car. In a post, Mr. X says that his new component set sounds better than everything else he's heard so far - I try it at a shop and love it too but can't buy it cos it's 800 dollars. A while later, Mr. X finds something even better with a higher/lower q/fs or whatever, and wants to get rid of his components for $400. I would like to buy them because I can afford the $400 and they sound good enough to me. We're on the same forum, we exchange ideas, but we can't exchange our equipment ? This makes our objectives harder to realise - and I think our main objective in this forum is the same thing - having the equipment we want in the car ! We can talk about staging, axis, transients but they're not much good without speakers, amps, h/units etc. I think it's a real backward step if our buddies are selling what we want to buy without us knowing about it.
