Being that Class D amplifiers are a no-no for an IDMAX12 when it comes pure SQ,was wondering if anyone knew of any other suggestions other than Arc Audio..Plus,what amout of watts does it really take for the IDMAX to perform at its full potential?

US Amps 1000 or 1000X would be nice as would a Linear Power 2.2 or 3.2.

I'm not a big fan of Class D amps, not for any real reason, I'm just not taken with what others see to be the "need" for it...but why is a Class D a no-no for an IDMAX.

And when you say "full potential" what do you mean exactly? I would think, from what I've heard about that sub, that it should have a very wide range of "potential" applications.

You can hear the differences between clas a/b amps and class d amps on that sub. I heard the difference on mine and did 3 other people who didn't know that I switched amps- nothing other than "this sounds different."

Winslow are you saying that the class d didn't sound as good, or just "different"?

Orion HCCA 275 per 2 subs.
US Amps or linear power as mentioned would be nice. a jl audio 300/2 per sub wouldnt be bad either.

How about a Soundstream Rubicon Series II 1000-2, if it is a dual 4ohm that is?

Had a JL 500/1, the new amps are being kept on the d/l until IASCA Finals. Right now the Max is getting less power than it did with the JL, but the new amp is potentially much stronger.

i'd go with a USamps 1000x or the orion 275g4 or the 250g4, also the orion "beast" would be a good amp, its class a/b.

My vote is the Orion HCCA 275G4 for every 2 subs. Perfect power for them [Smile]
