I will be making a decision today or tomorrow...it's down to Oz Audio Matrix 300L or USD Audio SQ-12. I will most likely run two...for looks as much as output! [Big Grin]

Shortly, either a GZ Plu. 15, or an IDMax.

I have a sort of hybrid SQ/loud daily driver setup, and I use DD 9515s in moderate sized ported enclosures. Previously I had one 9515 in a smaller ported enclosure setup primarily for SQ.

Matt,

My setup right now consist of a pair of 8ib4's and that is it. The rest of my truck is in pieces. I'm trying to finish up some stuff to my dash. Then I have to relocate my seats, and I may get some new seats. I also am in the process of building a center console for my Rane ME-60 EQ. I hope to be done sometime around March (or so [Roll Eyes] ).

Are you using CDT Audio speakers still? If so, I would like to hear your vehicle. I am still searching for a front stage and someone mentioned them to me recently in a way that peaked my interest.

Also, SoundsGreat---how well do you know some of those guys?

Yeah I still have the CDTs right now, but they are the Classic series not the HDs. The 3-way set. Going to replace the midbass soon with DD midbass whenever I get my doors killed. Also have a really ****ing nasty rattle in my passenger side door that just kills the listening experience so I'm not too proud of my system right now [Wink]

You're welcome to come listen tho, drop me an email. matt@quicksand.org

If I could get horns in my vehicle--Image would be getting a very hard look right now (I recently sold all my Image stuff--except the IDW). If the 8ib4's end up not being enough for the judges the IDW will probably make an appearance in the truck.

I am wide open to suggestions. I would love to keep it to a 6 1/2 and a Tweeter only. I'm torn between going home audio (Scan-Speak, etc.) or going with someone in the car audio field that lends a lot support to competitors ( JL Audio XR series, etc.)

Andy,

If you are looking at home drivers, you should definately take a listen to the relatively new Scan-Speak 7" revelator. Extremely nice driver. I haven't tried mine in the car but they sound amazing in some temporary enclosures at home.

JC2, do you have a model number for the "new" version? (Has it changed). More importantly how do I know it is the new version?

I assume you bought them from Parts Express?

Does anyone know of a shop in the Southeast that has these speakers in stock so I can listen to them before I purchase. I am leaning more towards home audio speakers everyday. (I am hoping the JL Audio 8's will be enough to get me some support from JL at finals next year).

Thanks for the suggestion,

Andy
