I have tried all the troubleshooting steps you have stated. The system works fine with my laptop but when connected to my home computer I can not get a timer nor a blinking status light. There are no readings being taken. The usb slots are not manufactured by either of the ALI or SIS. Please help. My Laptop is too slow and getting older.

OS Windows XP
Version 4.5.25

If you know that the Term-LAB is working properly, then the problem must reside with one of the following...

1. The computer.
2. The Operating System.
3. The Term-LAB software installation (or configuration).
4. The USB subsystem on the computer's motherboard.

You must pursue a process of elimination. If you have tried all of the suggestions in the USB troubleshooting document, then there is a possibility that the USB chipset in your computer is simply incompatible with Term-LAB. I would recommend trying a plug-in USB adapter card.
