I just bought a used term-lab from a member. All the software installs and followed the directions exact from the manual. The green status light on the box will not come on and the computer and I get a error message (failed) when I hook up the USB. I checked the usb through device manager per the help topic. It's installed on a dell laptop with windows xp home edition. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance, Tate

If the green status LED on the white box is not coming on then the interface box is not communicating with the computer via the USB port. Try a different USB port or USB cable. You should also try another computer. If you still don't have any luck, then the USB Interface box may be damaged.

when the instacal loads it says for windows98 and im using xp. would that make a difference in the green led light not coming on? I tried two different computers still no green led light. If that box is hooked up usb to computer and plugged should that green led come on no matter what, even if software is not installed? If the box is damaged can I buy a new from you? Thank you for the help, Tate

Instacal is not the problem. It sounds like the interface box is bad. Maybe you can get your money back.

I'd keep trying to get a hold of the guy and get your money back, then you can use the money towards a new one.
