this is a tutorial on how to fix this particular problem with termlab. maybe wayne will see fit to add this to the troubleshooting thread. this error should only occurr for people with the "multimedia" feature activated.
upon starting termlab, this message appears.
go to start menu, then control panel
once in control panel, go to "speech"
once in speech, the problem is solved by correcting the configuration of the speech engine. (my particular problem was caused by having a defective voice selected.)
