I just got a new laptop and installed the termlab. Whenever I press START on the Spl or RTA, the program hangs.

I tried removing the PCMCIA/PCI card and run the RTA again. The program does not hang.
So it means when I plug in the card, it will hang the program.
I have done a removal of instacal and Term lab and reinstall them again. But the same thing happens.

I check on Device Manager to see if there is a yellow? mark on any of the hardware. There is none. I even tried to change the IRQ value and re-installed Instacal and Termlab. Still hangs.

Instacal can always detect the termlab card, but Whenever i perform a test on the card, it says "A/D not responding".

I am using Windows XP, Intel Centrino 1.2ghz, 256MB ram.

I would really appreciate someone help me on this.

First, and most importantly, do NOT run the calibration utility in Instacal. This will corrupt your calibration values and you will need to send your PCMCIA board back for re-calibration. (This is not covered by warranty.)

If you had the Term-LAB.NET system working in another computer, and it won't work in the new computer, then the problem is related to the new computer or the installation.

If you are fairly certain that the installation has been completed correctly, then there is probably a system resource issue that is causing the unit not to work. Use the device manager to determine what resource the Term-LAB interface card is using. It can be found under the DAS Components group. If possible, try to change the IRQ value for the Term-LAB card to IRQ5.

You might also want to try some other type of PCMCIA device to confirm that the PCMCIA services on your new laptop are working correctly.

I only run the calibration after the program hangs in Termlab. Actually i am not doing the calibration at all, i just want to see if the pc card is doing right. If it is working fine, there should not be any error message when i click on any of Instacal's function.
If clicking on the calibration function destroys the card, then it should not be usable on my old laptop..but it is working fine there.

As I have mentioned, I have already check the DAS in device manager and it says working fine. I also change the IRQ values ranging from 3, to 7, none of them works.

I have put in other PCMCIA card to test and it works on my new laptop.

Running the calibration utility will not ruin your card but it will make your meter read incorrectly.

If the system works on your old laptop then there is not a problem with the Term-LAB system. The problem must be with the new laptop or installation.

If the system does not work with the old laptop, then you need to contact us for an return authorization number.

I don't have any other suggestions for resolving this issue.

I find it difficult to get the termlab to work even on other laptops. I have tried 2 other laptops which are Pentium III configuration. I can't even get pass the installation even if i follow all the steps carefully.

If there is no other way to get it work on my new laptop, i am really stuck now. I would love to have my old laptop back but I have already sold it away and begging the new owner to test out my termlab was already a difficult process.

Waiting for the RTA software already took months. Finally I have the RTA and I can't get it running. Frustrating.

Anyone else has got any advice to solve this issue?

You know that the Termlab works correctly on an old laptop. That tells me there is something not right with the newer ones. Make sure to go to microsoft's website and do all of the updates that are listed for your machine and operating system.

If you are still having problems, please post here and dont make a new post so we can keep up with your issues.
