Symptom

You are using the laptop version of Term-LAB.NET. When you launch Term-LAB the program comes up but then locks up or closes. Instacal may or may not detect your Term-LAB interface card.

Problem

The computer resources allocated to the Term-LAB.NET interface card are invalid.

Solution

Manually set the resources to a valid value.

1. Select the Windows "Start" button and then right-click on "My Computer".
2. Select "Manage".
3. Click on "Device Manager".
4. Click on the "+" sign next to "DAS Component" in the right-hand side of the window.

 -

5. Right-Click on "PC-CARD-DAS16/16" and select "Properties".
6. Click on the "Resources" tab.

 -

7. De-select the "Use Automatic Settings" checkbox.

 -

8. Click on the "I/O Range" resource type and then press the "Change Setting" button.
9. Enter "0300-031F" for the new value.

 -

10. Click "OK" to save the new value.
11. Your I/O Range should look this this...

 -

12. You will receive a confirmation message asking if you want to continue. Select "Yes".

 -

13. Re-Run Instacal (Select Start/All Programs/Termlab/Instacal). Instacal should detect the Term-LAB Interface card.

 -

14. Click "OK".

 -

15. Run Term-LAB.
