I have a copy of the Windows Vista Beta and loaded Term-Lab. Everything went fine. However when trying to open term lab it acts as if the meter isn't connected to the machine. Figured it was worth a try for fun. :-)

Crazy different cosmetically. Nothing is in the same spot. Major look and appearance differences. IE 7 is kinda cool w/ tabbed browsing. Windows itself is way to security consious. If the software your running doesn't say microsoft it basically asks you as your opening it if you started it and makes you acknowledge everything. Office 2007 looks pretty cool as well. Same things for that major cosmetic differences.

I don't know about runs worse. Typical MS OS its shakey right now at best. Probably will be until SP1 :-). The whole look and feel thing forces a lot more power in the machine running it. It does have a very OS X look to it now that you mention it. Also right click on an exe and get "Run as Administrator" hell it should just say su- root. Do I need to run Instical while the box is plugged in? I didn't think i had to do that. I mean i did install instical before term-lab but not while the box was plugged in.

When was meca finals? Vista was in its infancy if even available yet at this time last year. I know i got on the beta team like as soon as it was announced. Don't have a clue when that was but i didn't do much with it at first as it was pretty rough!!

That would have been me, but it wasn't actually Vista. I tried to run on Vista last year for a little while, but too many bugs.
I was alpha testing Vista way back in 2004 (nice to have hookups through MSDN) and TL worked on it for a while.
As an interesting note, I sent Wayne a note about this but I found that in RC1 of Vista, TL works fine right up until you enable Speech Synthesis, and then it gives an ActiveX error. They changed the Speech setup in Vista from XP, and I have a pretty good feeling that's the cause of the error.
