on the back of the TL box, it says 14 - 25volts DC input, I assume this is because the TL regulates this down to a constant 12volts, correct? and the voltage regulator needs an overhead of like 2 volts to regulate properly...
what would happen, if you only gave the TL 12 volts? so the 12volt rail in the TL would be more like 11, or 10.5 volts?

yea if you give it less than 11 volts your score will be higher,i know from experience it will,

see, that was just it... when I first tested I believe the score WAS higher... but upon retesting, they were all pretty much the same...
so, I'm wondering if maybe it depends on the SPL level, and maybe if half, or ALL the TL's sold in Australia (with a regulated 12volt plug pack) will actually read too high!!!

i used to run my termlab in my car on the cigarette lighter, and i would burp the car to see my hertz,i thought i had been running the wrong hertz, got real nice scores, then i would hook it up to the wall plug and wonder wher i had lost 3 dbs,i only had one battery in my car and the voltage was dropping very low messing up my score,so now i use a battery booster to run my termlab when im out testing in the country,

huh, I was running it off an inverter. watched the battery voltage though and it was the same for every burp. how do I know what voltage is on my plug pack that came with the TL? are you guys testing them with DMM's while on?

an inverter might work just fine but straight off of the cigarrette lighter makes it drop to low,

my voltage is in the 13's even on burps, the output voltage was 117 and I made sure to burp at 13.7v battery voltage to keep in constant only dropped a few tenths on burps.
