Of course i called up my good pal Big_Ben to gloat a bit about my new toy i just ordered and then he shoots me down by saying he got his yesterday... anyways,

I just installed the software and did everything the book says to do, do i still need to download the updates?

You should check for updates periodically. Just select Help and Update to check for updates.
