If you have tried the various troubleshooting topics posted here to no avail, you may need to uninstall everything and start all over. If you are uncomfortable with any of the following steps, you will need to enlist the aid of a computer technician.
Remove Hardware Drivers
Click on the Windows "Start" button.
Right-Click on "My Computer".
Select "Manage" from the drop-down list.
Click on "Device Manager".
Look for entries in the "Unknown Devices" catagory named "Term-LAB" or "Measurement Computing".
Right-Click on this device and select "Uninstall".
Close the Device Manager.
Remove the Term-LAB data acquisition card (or board) from the computer.
Uninstall Software
Click on the Windows "Start" button.
Click on "Control Panel".
Click on "Add/Remove Software"
Select Term-LAB from the list (this will remove Term-Lab).
Select Instacal from the list (this will remove Instacal).
Download and Install the latest software
Please refer to the following article for instructions on downloading and installing the latest versions of Term-LAB and Instacal...
Insert the Term-LAB Interface card into the desired PCI slot on the motherboard of the computer (Desktop version) or insert the Term-LAB PC-CARD into the PCMCIA slot on the laptop (Laptop version). Be sure to turn off the computer before inserting or removing cards from the motherboard.
Windows will launch the "New Hardware Found" wizard.
If prompted, do NOT allow Windows to connect to the Internet to find new drivers.
Allow Windows to install the hardware drivers automatically.
Run Instacal
Click on the Windows "Start" button.
Select "All Programs".
Scroll down to the "Term-LAB" folder.
Select "Instacal".
Instacal will automatically detect your Term-LAB card. (It should show up in the "Board List".) If Instacal does not detect the interface card, then there is a problem with the card or the computer.
Close Instacal.
Run Term-LAB
Run Term-LAB by double-clicking on the Term-LAB icon on the desktop.
