wayne, i have had to reformat my computer, and reinstall my operating system (thanks to all the spam pigs out there)

i think this was the problem with my sensor as well (all the spam and spyware)

before i reinstall termlab, i know i need to reinstall instacal.

however, i'm questioning whether i should or should NOT recalibrate with instacal?

should i simply install instacal, and leave it alone, and then install termlab?

basically, when i calibrated the first time, did i calibrate the meter, or did i calibrate the software to the meter?

i know the directions say never to recalibrate, but not sure if that applies to a new install.

i will not install anything until hearing back from you first.

thanks

ok, reinstalled instacal, but did NOT mess with it. reinstalled the new termlab update from the website.

tested the meter, everything WORKS!!!!!!!

so, oddly enough wayne, the problem with me meter, and my magical 182.5 was the result of SPAM and SPYWARE!! go figure.

now i'm wondering if i build a box out of spam cans, will i get the same results in the lanes [Big Grin]

[Smile]

Your problem with the 182.5 was more probably related to the Input Device (or MDF File) you had selected for SPL measurements.

When you re-installed the software, all of the settings were installed based on factory default values.

that i can understand.

what i cant understand, is that i was testing all day, with no problems, and normal numbers. then, out of the blue, it hit 182.5 and stayed there .

i understand what you are saying. just not sure why it happened in the middle of testing.

and i was using peak hold, with a 30 second refresh. so i wasnt even messing with the pc when it happened.

hmm oh well. at least ts fixed now, and we know the sensor didnt go bad [Smile]

course, it hasnt been tested in the car yet. only in the house with me blowing in it. but i get realistic varying numbers when blowing in it. so i'm assuming everything is working fine now. will find out for sure this weekend.

There is still a slight possibility that there is an intermittent problem with the sensor. If you see the problem again, please give me a call.
