Symptom

The LED in the Term-LAB.NET key is flashing. In addition, you receive an error message "6043" stating, "The Term-LAB USB Key must be attached to the computer before you can run this program."

Problem

The required drivers for the USB key are not installed. If you attach new hardware to a computer BEFORE you install the drivers for the hardware, Windows will ignore the new hardware because the required drivers are missing.

Solution

Remove the Rockey4 USB device from the list of Unknown Devices in Device Manager. You must do this or Windows will continue to ignore the Term-LAB.NET key.

  • Click on the Windows "Start" button.
  • Right-Click on "My Computer".
  • Select "Manage" from the drop-down list.
  • Click on "Device Manager".
  • Look for an entry in the "Unknown Devices" catagory named "Rockey4 USB Key".
  • Right-Click on "Rockey4 USB Key" and select "Uninstall".
  • Close the Device Manager.
  • Remove the Term-LAB Key from the computer.
Check to see if the AZ-Tech Hardware Drivers are installed.

  • Click on the Windows "Start" button.
  • Select "Control Panel"
  • Select "Add-Remove Programs"
  • Look for an entry in the list named, "AZ-Tech Hardware Drivers". If this program is not installed, you will need to install it BEFORE you re-attach the Term-LAB.NET Key. If the program is already installed, please skip the following section on "Drivers Installation".
Install the AZ-Tech Hardware Drivers

  • The AZ-Tech Hardware drivers MUST be installed BEFORE you attach the Term-LAB.NET key to your computer.
  • This program is located on your Term-LAB.NET CD. The name of the program is "Drivers.exe".
  • Please refer to the Software Installation instructions in your Term-LAB.NET manual .
Attach the Term-LAB.NET Key

  • Attach the Term-LAB.NET Key to a USB port on your computer.
  • Windows will launch the "New Hardware Found" Wizard.
  • Allow Windows to AUTOMATICALLY install the sofware.
  • Windows may tell you that the software being installed has not passed, "Windows Logo Testing". You MUST allow the installation to continue anyway.
  • When the software is installed, the LED on the Term-LAB.NET key should be on continuously.
