Setup as Board #1 in Instical. Flash LED button wil flash the StatLED.
Open Term-Lab and everthing looks good, I start a 'race' and the 30-seconds does not appear; it goes READY-SET-GO and sits at 0:00. I can end it at any time.
What am I doing wrong, what possible solutions can you provide?

We are using Windows XP with SP2 integrated, with all updates etc. When we plug the interface box in, there is no "Found new hardware" window that usually appears with new hardware; when uninstalling TermLab/InstCal, are there any registry entries that need to be cleared so we are able to do a "fresh" install?

It sounds like there is a problem with the USB subsystem on your computer. I would try re-installing the USB drivers as outlined in the troubleshooting document.
After re-booting, Windows should detect the USB ports on the motherboard and re-install the appropriate drivers.
Finally, attach Term-LAB and Windows should launch the new hardware found wizard.
I would also try different USB ports. If you can't get this working, you should check the BIOS to make sure that USB is enabled.
You may need to purchase another USB card if this doesn't work.

Uninstalled the USB drivers and allowed all devices to be reinstalled; NEw Hardware Wizard opens for all of the unknown devices (USB scanner, USB printer, USB Mouse & Keyboard etc.) but no matter which of the 6 USB ports I try, none of them make any differnce. They all flash 4x when they are connected and then stay lit solid. I swapped out USB cables, no difference.
Are there any conflicts with Windows XP SP2 and TermLab? This is getting frustrating. I am not sure adding a new USB card will make any difference, but its really the last thing I can try.
Anybody have any additional suggestions? Wayne?

Well, I took the USB card from the working, yet slower PC, and installed it into the new TermLab-dedicated PC and no my surprise, it STILL DOES NOT WORK; this effort yielded the same effects compared to when we were using the onboard USB; any last minute suggestions before I rip XP out and revert back to Win2k with SP4?

I have heard of Windows XP copies not working. Our experience with XP has been fantastic. If you are going to reinstall your OS, I would recommend re-formatting and re-installing XP. Make sure it is not a copy, though. Let me know what happens.

I think you'll find its something to do with the nForce USB controllers.. try it on a motherboard running an Intel chipset and I bet it works fine.
I tried THREE versions of XP, and none of them worked. (PRO-SP2, MCE-2k5, 2k3) and they all said 'HI' to the controller but none would give me a 30-sec countdown. Added a 2-port PCI USB Card and XP failed to issue a countdown.
NOTE: Every other device, (USB-Mouse/Keyboard, etc.) worked fine with all 6 nVidia-USBs -- go figure.
Anyhow. Installed an old version of Win2k from the office and it worked FINE! 30-sec countdown works, but the nVidia USBs still seem to be unsupported by TermLab, so I defaulted back to the 2-port USB card.
There are some things that have not been tested, but from what I can see everything works fine.
LESSON OF THE DAY: Use Intel. Leave AMD out of the lanes.
Thanx Wayne for your help, all others too.
